It certainly worked for Jon; he lost 225 pounds in two-and-a-half years, going from 409 pounds to 184, without suffering, dieting, or anguishing over his body. Unlike most people who lose an extensive amount of weight, his skin tightened up and now is indistinguishable from that of a person who has been healthy his whole life.

Jon Gabriel has a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Although his background is in finance, he also pursued extensive coursework in biochemistry, organic chemistry, and biology and performed research for the internationally recognized biochemist Dr. Jose Rabinowitz. In 1990, Jon started gaining weight for no apparent reason. He tried every diet and program he could to lose weight but in the end, he just kept gaining. The more he dieted, the more he gained. The situation became critical in mid-2001 when he became morbidly obese and reached a weight of 409 pounds. He wasn't sleeping well, could hardly reach his shoes to tie them, and had a diminished quality of life that was literally killing him with every breath.On September 11, 2001, he was scheduled to fly from Newark to San Francisco, and it was only by a stroke of luck that he was not on the United Airlines flight 93 that was hijacked by terrorists. This event, as well as some equally life-changing events that occurred in the weeks following 9/11, affected him deeply. It was this wake-up call that made him realize life was a precious opportunity not to be wasted. He decided to start living the life of his dreams. He also decided to apply all of his research skills and scientific background toward understanding and eliminating the real reasons for why he was fat. The result is arguably one of the most remarkable physical transformations of all time. Jon lost 225 pounds without dieting and without surgery. Amazingly, his body shows almost no signs of ever being overweight at all--a fact that has astounded many professionals in the medical community.After finishing The Gabriel Method, he used his powerful visualization techniques--the power that had brought him a new body and a new lease on life--to bring him an agent that was connected with the very publisher he wanted to work with.     To start with very sceptical thinking it would be just another eat this, do that etc. Being honest, it really appears to work. After day 2 of listening to the download I noticed cravings for certain foods were gone without needing willpower. 6 weeks later and I'm still the same. 21lb down and doesn't feel like I'm trying.

    At last someone who understands that losing weight the old way is tougher than what people think, an honest look taking you away from dieting and how many calories you are eating and helping you get to the root cause, through meditation and visualization of why your body is wanting to hold onto weight. Now I have only been using the Gabriel Method for just over a week, but already my body is becoming leaner but most importantly I feel amazing and not craving any foods at all!!Probably the best purchase I have ever made in my life :))

    I have only had weight problems in the last 10 years and I just couldn't solve the lose weight - regain even more weight vicious cycle. Reading this book makes a whole lot of sense as Western medicinal and health practices typically focus on the body with out the mind and spirit connection.After reading the 1st 4 chapters, many of my cravings disappeared as I changed my mind story and chatter to be more positive, abundant and loving. Knowing that I can eat without restriction guilt free switched me on because adding more real food and exercise you enjoy to your lifestyle is a given for any weight loss plan.I'm starting my month one today and as I can lose weight easily, the real test is how long I can remain at my ideal weight once I get there.This goes beyond what food to eat as in my opinion that is no longer the issue for our obesity epidemic.It's a case of what are you depriving yourself of and why. You'll find your own answers while reading this book as I did.Thank you Jon Gabriel for sharing your story.

    I have lost track of how many diet books I have read since 2001, but I can tell you that Amazon must love me.The advice given in this book is top notch and is one of the missing links, I wish I had found this sooner. I purchased this a few years back, read it and thought 'that sounds like me'. I listened to the meditation for a week or two then abandoned it because I saw no weight loss, although I did start feeling better. Instead of abandoning it, I should have continued with it.Anyhow, my weight loss journey (not that I've lost any) brought me back to this book again. The difference is that this time I am ready to do the work. I am ready to do the work for myself, because I owe it to my Creator to be the best I can be.I will update in a few months regarding weight loss.

    If you are fed up with getting on the scales everyday to check what your weight is then it is time to read this book.This is a well written book and dispels all the myths and stories we tell ourselves about dieting. Jon Gabrielle suggests that we look at the stresses and strains in our lives to make us stay the weight we are. He uses various visualization techniques as well as giving sound advice about looking at our relationship with food. He doesn't suggest that you do anything that he hasn't done himself. It worked for me.

    Been listening to the visualisations for three weeks now. Crisp addiction has disappeared, and I have not felt the need to binge eat. I do not know how much weight I have lost because I have stopped weighing myself, but my clothes are looser. Even if I had not lost weight I would carry on listening to the visualisations as I feel so calm and grounded. It makes complete sense to me, how Jon explains how our brain works.

    I think reviews of this are going to be extremely subjective; the theories propounded are ether going to resonate with the reader or not! There are probably no half measures. For me, they did not resonate! I found it a mix of the obvious and the unlikely. I also found it very repetitive. Not for me. But I do know others who find it amazing and helpful!
