You do not need to be a psychic, a medium or have any paranormal gifts to make contact and record audio messages from your deceased loved ones or even from your deceased pets using these devices. Within this book starting in chapter one, I will outline and discuss a brief history of Radio Sweep (Ghost Box) Electronic Voice Phenomena. Chapter three is where you will learn which store bought radios can be hacked, made to work as a Radio Sweep (Ghost Box) EVP device. Lastly in chapter thirteen, I will share with each of you some ideas I have what Radio Sweep (Ghost Box) EVP devices can be used for going forward. Please note that within this book are the names of people that build and sell home made radio sweep - ghost boxes. I am sad to report that two of these box builders have passed away since this book was published. They are Joseph Angelo Cioppi Senior and Frank Sumption Sr.I would like to introduce a radio sweep ghost box builder not mentioned in this book. His name is Andrew Openlander of Chicago Spirit Wave "Google him". Andrew like the others builds amazing radio sweep - ghost boxes and he ships worldwide.

Review Text

In general, I found this book interesting and useful. As I suppose with most reference-type books, there is an inevitable amount of content that is either of little or minimal interest. However, in my opinion - this book is definitely worth getting as I'm sure all 'ghost-hunters' will find at least something really valuable within it. What somewhat baffles me however, is the sheer quantity of spelling and grammatical mistakes in this book! I have only read about half of it so far but have found myself re-reading many portions of text trying to understand the intended sense! Either this book wasn't proof-read before publishing or the proof-reader got 4 out of ten at school for trying! However, for the most part its well written and I think worth buying for anyone interested in the activity of 'ghost-hunting' and the equipment thereof.

I wish I had discovered this book a year ago, seriously useful, full of great links for those interested in the ghost box. Fail to see how the negative review below is relevant to the quality of the book regardless of your personal opinion on EVP the review should be relevant to the book it self, which is excellent. Highly recommended for anyone interested in EVP or experimenting with radios as a method of communicating with the spirit world.

I recently purchased this amazing book along with the P-SB7 spirit box and found that the content was written in a language that anyone could understand, with using the advice given by Michael We at Spirits or Not Paranormal have been able to conduct more thorough EVP sessions and we are now not missing vital information that had we not known about from this fantastic book we otherwise may have.. This is a must buy for any EVP/Paranormal enthusiast.. A huge Thank you to Michael for taking the time to educate us all on speaking to the dead :)

At long last, a book solely about contacting the dead using radios. Until I see another book on the subject, this one to date is the best one on the subject. The Author, Micheal Edwards goes into depth giving a full history about EVP's using analogue/ digital recorders and comparing the class of evp to using live communications using radios. He goes further to explain about the various types of am/fm sweep radios including the 'Radio Shack' hack and valuable resources of different makes of specialist radios from Franks Box to the P-SB7 ITC, used by paranormal investigators. The book gives an explanation as to what these spirit voices really are and also debunks a few. With a really good chapter on Audio Editing Software and its uses on how to clean the clutter, and obtain proper spirit communication the reader will definitely find this book rewarding and at best save a lot of wasted time. I give this gem top marks.

A must have for any radio sweep/ ghost box enthusiast. This method of communication gives the ordinary person on the street the ability to connect to the other side.

This is a fantastic book for those want to use the ghost box. It will open your eyes to the fact that we are not alone and will show you that we can speak to our loved ones who have passed over.I found this book very comforting in the fact that I can do this from the comfort of my home. You will find it easy to read and as a excellent guide to start with, a must have.

This is a good book for those into EVP, spirit communication using radios, echovox or another white noise generator. The book contains lots of information, methods, personal stories and examples.I found the book really informative, it has helped me cut down my recording into manageable clips for easier listening and catalogue evidence to form a clearer picture of what's being said. There are chapters on editing, enhancing and on debunking. There are clear easy instructions of how to record, when to record, a hack able radios list and where to find it. I can say my recordings have gotten better so thank you Michael.I do have some criticisms. The book would have been a lot shorter if the same things were not repeated several times, in parts it became tiring!! I'd read a story on one page then read it again 3 or 4 pages ahead. While I accept giving credit for who designed the ghost boxes, when and how and the history behind it all, I distinctly remember reading the entire history at least twice a few chapters apart including full names and web addresses which brings me to my next point;Instead of using full web addresses (the full http://) it might have been easier on the reader to say or see notes. In parts I found myself skipping ahead, that's not a good thing. To the negative reviewer, If you don't believe in this field I don't know why you would even bother to buy the book. How can you leave a bad review if it's content is meaningless to you in the first instance and not something you would even try? Also you mention nothing about the contents of the book, how it was set out and presented?Healthy scepticism is great!! it makes all paranormal researchers work that bit harder . But I personally think it's best to keep an open mind, Find you own truth.
